This is a sketch which may accompany one of my stories from my anthology entitled Drunk on... Inspired by a story by a close friend of her fantasies at the gym. ( which left the enthralled table at which she shared these at in hysterics)

I wish you were here
A glimpse of Turions mother, Marilla from one of my blog fiction series. Not sure if this will go with the story in the Anthology or not - but its nice to see who she is. Such a powerful gaze. She risked so much for the sake of her son, only to be disinherited and thrown out of the city. Might need to write some more about her rescue soon... Turion has been very patient in the green room.... If you are interested in reading some of Turions story - click here

No Laughing Matter
This is an image I caught for one of my stories - no laughing matter - about poking fun at dying and cancer. Well - thats cheery isn't it...
I was attempting to capture the line of this characters jaw as she tilted away - in a haughty, disinterested manner. I think all I got was a squashed face.

Orgasmic Birth
I've just submitted an article to a birthing magazine on orgasmic birth - and blissful birthing, so played around with an image to go with it. For many people the thought of the two words - orgasmic and birthing - would seem worlds apart. Part of this image reflects that - the shame of feeling bliss in what essentially is a sexual act - that of birthing.

Release
I was trying to get the shape of release, or unadulterated bliss and orgasm - without it being sexual.. is that a bit weird?

Brush painting CW Logo
I pulled my Japanese Brush Painting set out and was thankful I remembered how to make the ink and hold the brush. Its just so.. Japanese.... you have to empty your mind and commit to the moment and then let it go to go on to do the next stroke.
I did two perfect strokes - but they weren't on the same picture,,, and the rest of the painting looked aweful.. ahh well. I also don't think I was in the right head space to be doing this- a few crappy things on today - but in retrospect - perhaps this was the best thing for me to be doing...
below are two of my better attempts. Not 100% delighted with any of them....

First Brush
Just a sketch of the horror the character felt in the story First Brush. Not enough emotion or angst in the stance. might have to have another go at this

Toss of a coin
I wrote this story - Toss of a Coin - for Valentines Day in 2008. I liked it so much it made it inot my Anthology. A pity I don't like this picture - the hand is completely wrong and I now appreciate why the Masters spent years painting and sketching hands.. they drive you mad.

Anthology work
Nothing to put up today as I had work for 12 hours ( first day back into it for a long time). After doing some sketches up for Chinese Whisperings, I thought I aught to make some definate moves on getting my 2008 Anthology in ebook format and published..... and of course one of my whiny blockages was that it had no illustrations....
So my aim for at least the next fortnight is to draw or sketch something which I could use as a basis for an illustration for each of my stories in the anthology..

other CW logo images
Here are my last two attempts.. One of them looks like she is wearing a lampshade on her head. Its time to stop and go and write something..... prefereably with lots of blood in it

Chinese Wisperings logo
I was very honoured to have been asked to draw a simple line drawing of the Chinese Whisperings logo for thier twitter account.
Simple line drawing - easy!! ha ha.. I have a dozen sketches, and as many crumpled up pieces of paper around my area as I have attempted to capture the simple beauty of the model. Ihave been trying to draw this for a week and have failed miserably...Here are the best so far.
Oh - DO pop over to the site - I have one of my short stories published there - as well as been included in the Red Book - 2009s anthology.

Horse From Side
I really miss my horse.. I miss the freedom of riding around on hundreds of acres, feeling that oneness with a powerful creature. I miss the wonderful times I spent with my sisters exploring, competing and laughing on horseback.
Still theres no value wishing for things that you cannot recapture. As attractive as it might sound, owning a horse in the city is practically impossible - stabling costs, traveling times - the pits..... no.. will have to wait till we move to the country. You are never too old to ride... I'll take it up again then...

Female Form
I think I should go and do some life drawing classes. Trying to pull dimensions and angles from ones head and images are starting to become limiting.

The stuff of dreams
So why don't you sleep much Annie?
If this is what you expected to be met with every night, would you be keen to sleep? Its not even the images - but its the hot breath, the ripping noises, the sticky blood and very often the pain.
so no - I don't sleep much and when I do, I pray not to dream

Lone Dancer
I watched Morgan and Lilly at their dance classes yesterday - first lesson back. Their teacher is so graceful, fluid, beauty itself when moving. This is a quick sketch I did to capture a moment in class as she was demonstrating something.

Robot - with help
I sat during lunchtime today and asked Morgan - my 6 year old what I should sketch. I was at his school volunteering at the tuckshop and then in the classrooms for the day.
He told me to draw a robot. Ekkk I thought..... I'm not one for technical drawing - anything with angles as far as I am concerned is technical. ..... buildings, vehicles etc. But the pleading look got me and his utmost confidence that I could pull it off...
Well - I have only posted it here as its my challange to do so.
I asked Morgan what a robot looked like or had. He suggested a monkey face made of metal and a big roller wheel at the bottom. He aslo wanted the robot to have a big hammer to squash baddies with. So I drew and he pointed and suggested bits.. and this is what we came up with....
I am so not a detail person.... ( is that like saying I'm not a romance / sci fi/ non fiction etc writer?)
